Hi there!! My name is Sarah Copes and I am the owner/artist of Simply Creative "Stuff". 

I am now officially staying home to be a Mommy and work on my business full time.  I was a middle school teacher for 5 years.  It is so great to see ex-students and they tell me how much they enjoyed my class and how much they took from it.  I just started doing the Arts and Crafts shows in our areas and even get to hire a couple of my students to come and work it. 

I grew up around art!  My mom, my aunt and grandma all did some sort of art.  I was in art all the way through high school and majored in Graphic Design at Louisiana Tech University.  After graduation, I worked at a newspaper for a while while going to school in Photography.  After doing a little traveling taking basketball pictures, I eventually went back to school for my education degree.  I have always loved doing lettering and that is what I do now in all my "free" time, so why not turn something I really like doing into something more.  I learned how to do the ornaments from watching my mom doing them over the years for friends and family.  Painting on canvas is great and I always feel like a "true" artist when I paint them. 

I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost 7 years and the proud parent of a 4 year old daughter and we are now expecting another girl in April.  My husband supports me 100% in my venture and even comes and sits at the shows with me and is currently working on some display items for me.

I am also really involved with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.  I was team captain this past year for my school and our tent won "Best Campsite" for the second year in a row.  I am very proud of all my students and what they accomplished.

A lot of people ask me why I used the word "stuff".  Well, I owe that to my husband, it did sound better than "junk".  All joking aside, I could not decide on one thing to specialize in, so "Stuff" leaves it wide open for me to change with the seasons. I get new ideas all the time, so please keep checking out my site for all the new posting I will be doing!
